Rooted in Faith: How Reconnecting with God Deepened My Journey as a Plant Lover & Entrepreneur

There was a time I thought entrepreneurship meant constant movement—working harder, doing more. #teamnosleep was my mindset. I poured myself into the hustle, only to realize I felt disconnected—from my spirit, my purpose, and even the joy that first led me to start Momstera Lounge.
But something shifted when I began to slowly reconnect with my faith. In the quiet moments with God, I was reminded: I was never meant to carry it all alone.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

Slowing Down with Intention
At the beginning of the year, I focused on healing community through plants and soon recognized that I had to really prioritize myself & start healing past wounds. In late April, I began to reconnect with my faith and prayer became a daily priority: When I wake up, all throughout the day, and before going to bed. Prayer has really taught me to pause. To stop rushing and start listening—not just to the world around me, but to the still, small voice within me. That same stillness began to mirror how I saw and cared for my business and the plants held within the Lounge.
In the moment of stillness and reflection, I'm reminded that plants rest in the dark, receive light, and lean into the rhythms of nature. And that’s exactly what faith has been teaching me: that slowing down is not weakness—it’s wisdom. It’s trust. It's walking side by side with the Lord. Within the ritual of watering & repotting plants, I began to feel the sacredness of small actions. Every new leaf that bloomed became a lesson, a celebration. Their roots, a reminder to stay grounded in something greater than myself.
A Faith-Based Business
When I started to reconnect to my faith, I started to lead my business differently. Decisions are no longer driven by fear or comparison—they are now guided by prayer and discernment. My presence on social media has changed. No longer am I posting for the likes, followers & Ego. Each potential opportunity becomes an insight to which one aligns with my assignment. This specific blog post is being written because of a whisper I received to share the emerging spiritual leadership inside me.
I now lead asking myself :
Does this honor my values?
Does this align with the calling God placed on my life?
Am I planting seeds that will bear good fruit—not just for me, but for others too?
Faith has reminded me that success isn’t always fast nor is it what we may think it is. Sometimes it's about faithfulness in the unseen. Showing up with love. Serving with intention. Letting God do the growing.
A Deeper Connection to Creation
Over the past few months, I really leaned into plants becoming partners in healing. I see the fingerprints of God in their design, their patience, their quiet perseverance and their longevity on this Earth before Man was created. I began to speak affirmations while repotting. I pray over the Lounge before opening for the day and before hosting experiences. I give thanks when a new leaf unfurls. Every plant is a reminder for me that God is in the details. That just as He cares for the trees and the birds, He’s caring for me too.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out his roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit”
— Jeremiah 17:7-8

Closing Thoughts
This journey of entrepreneurship, faith, and plant care has shown me that growth doesn’t happen through force—it happens through faith, intention, and surrender. By slowing down and rooting myself in God’s presence, I’ve found clarity, creativity, and a deeper sense of purpose not only in business, but in life and relationships. If you’ve been moving through a season of uncertainty or feeling overwhelmed, sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is return to your roots and let God do the growing. You are being held. You are being guided. And the harvest will come—in His perfect time.
